Random weight (number system 2) UPCs are a way of price-marking an item. The first (number system) digit is always 2. The next 5 (6?) digits are locally assigned (meaning anybody can use them for whatever they want). The next 5 (4?) are the price (2 decimal places), and the last digit is the check digit, calculated normally.
